I have been working as a counsellor at a Canadian hospice palliative care program for more than 20 years and I love what I do. With wisdom, humility, and deep respect, I have counselled people of all ages and from all walks of life as they encounter the difficult transitions and transformations that often accompany serious illness, death, and bereavement.
I have completed extensive supervised training in Prolonged Grief Disorder Treatment (PGDT) through the Center for Prolonged Grief at Columbia University. I have experience working with people who are bereaved following sudden losses such as illness, accident, suicide, and overdose, and also those who are bereaved following sudden or prolonged illness.
It has been an honour to support people living with loss, and I hope to continue learning from this unique and rare privilege for many years to come. I’m mindful of how much of what matters most is present during times of illness, loss, and grief and I’m inspired by the incredible resilience that I’ve witnessed. It is possible to grieve, survive, and sometimes grow, through even the most devastating losses.
